How’s the Fund Raising Going?

CMT’s sculpture project aims to raise £100,000 over the next few years (or quicker if we are lucky) to fund a sculptural memorial to Samuel Taylor Coleridge in his native town, Ottery St Mary, in the southwest of England. Our eventual aim is to install and unveil a new sculpture for Coleridge in time for the 250th anniversary of his birth (October 21st 2022). That might seem a distant prospect but we have a long journey ahead of us so we think it’s realistic. On this page we shall report progress on the funding issues. The first step requires a pump primer of around £1000 to fund the materials we shall need as we sally forth into unexplored territory looking for funds. The more usual resources – including HLF, are not able to sponsor this sort of project, so we have to be original in our search, as well as hoping for the more traditional input from individual and local supporters.
